Leave No Trace

LNT photo

On the trail, there is a maxim of zero tolerance for leaving trash behind. Everything you bring, take back with you to civilization and dispose of waste responsibly: wet wipes, tissue paper, plastic bottles, chocolate wrappers, cigarette butts, and everything else. If you need to relieve yourself in nature, take used toilet paper with you, and bury the waste with soil or rocks.

Along the trail live the residents of the villages of Konavle. Behave in a way that they perceive you as friends: greet them, smile, avoid making noise, and do not play music on speakers. In short, behave as you would want tourists to behave in your neighborhood. In this way, you will show respect to the people whose ancestors built these trails and who live and work here today. Remember that in case of any trouble, they will be the first people to come to your aid.

Do not light a fire under any circumstances. Konavle is a sensitive ecosystem, and everything is full of easily flammable vegetation that can ignite instantly and cause a catastrophic fire that, carried by the wind, can even endanger human lives and property.
